Public Safety Communication Center

"Dispatchers save
seconds................Seconds save lives!!!"
The Wellesley Public Safety Dispatchers
are responsible for the coordination of all of the
town's emergency services
to include police fire and emergency medical services. The
Wellesley
Communication Center is equipped with a
multi-channel radio system, which is
capable of communicating directly with any
of the surrounding communities as
well as most
of Eastern Massachusetts.
Our Staff of Public Safety Dispatchers are trained, tested and certified in the
Statewide
Enhanced 911 System,
The National Crime Information Computer System, Emergency
Medical Dispatch, CPR,
First Responder and
Information Management Corporation's
Computer
Aided Dispatch System. New Dispatchers are required to
complete a six-month
regimented training program before operating on their own.
The Communications Training Staff are nationally certified by the Association of
Public
Safety Officials (APCO).
The Wellesley Public Safety Communication Center receives and processes
approximately
26,639 calls for service
annually. This number does not include non-emergency calls such as
general
questions, calls for directions, and other
administrative calls.
