The Wellesley Police Department is once again accepting donations of unwrapped toys on behalf of the United States Marine Corps ‘Toys for Tots’ program. Each year, the Wellesley Police Department serves as a drop off point for the USMC program in our front lobby. Over the past few years, Wellesley has been very generous in their donations to the program.
Wellesley Police Officers then transport the toys to the USMC for distribution, usually making a second drop after the new year as gifts continue to come in.
The USMC distributes donated toys throughout the United States to less fortunate children. The goal is to have every child receive a gift around the holidays.
The Wellesley Police Department accepts unwrapped gifts for children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week right through the first of the year. Our drop off box is located in the lobby to the police station.
We will update the community on our results once we reach the new year. Officer Travis Dixon and Sergeant Brian Spencer serve as the coordinators of this program.
