9th Annual Officer Stewart Savage Memorial 5K Run

The 9th annual Officer Stewart Savage Memorial 5K Road Race will be held on Sunday, May 3rd 2009 at 11:00 AM.  The 5K course starts and ends on the Babson College campus, located at 230 Forest Street, Wellesley.  There is ample free parking on the campus close to the registration site. 

The 5K age group breaks down as follows:  18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.  There is also a Clydesdale (220+lbs) and Philly (150+lbs) division.  There is a special Law Enforcement Top Team award as well.  Awards are given for the top 3 male and female finishers in the following categories:  Top Team, Top Cop, Fastest Fed, Swiftest Statie, Local Legend, Top Media Team.

Prior to the 5K race, there is a "Fun Run" starting at 10:00 AM for children.  There is no need to pre-register for the fun run.  Awards are given for children age 9 and under, as well as age 10 and above.

Race day registration is $20.00.  Free long sleeve T-shirts are given to the first 300 registrations. 

Following the race, there will be a cook out at Babson, including games for the kids. 

The 5K course begins at Babson College and winds through the streets of Wellesley.  A long straightaway down Forest Street brings runners back to the Babson campus to the finish line.  The course is designed for all skill levels.

The pre-registration period is over.  Runners may register the day of the race at the race site.

Directions to Babson College:

From Rt. 128:  Take exit 21 (Route 16).  Follow Route 16 West, through Wellesley Hills and take a left onto Forest Street.  Follow Forest Street until the 4-way stop sign.  Go straight through the intersection and the entrance to Babson College will be on the right.

From west of Wellesley:

Take Route 16 east, through downtown Wellesley.  Go past the police station and the Mobil gas station.  At the next set of lights, take a right onto Forest Street.  Follow Forest Street until the 4-way stop sign.  Go straight through the intersection and the entrance to Babson College will on the right.

From the south:

Take Route 135 north into Wellesley.  At the rotary, go right up Wellesley Ave.  At the 4-way sop sign, bear right.  The entrance to Babson College is on the right.
