More Overnight Thefts From Cars

Type:  announcements

Officer Matt Farwell and Officer Janet Moura are investigating four overnight thefts from vehicles that occurred on July 29th. Similar to the other overnight thefts from vehicles, three of the four victims reported that their cars were unlocked in the driveway to their residence.  One victim had locked the car door, but left the window open enough that the door could be unlocked and opened.

Taken in the thefts were GPS units, Ipods, and a guitar.  The thefts happened in the Hundreds Road, Garden Road, Surrey Lane, and Twitchell Street area.  The time frame for these overnight thefts seems to be well after midnight.

Other communities in the metropolitan Boston area are reporting a very similar pattern of thefts from unlocked vehicles in driveways.

The Wellesley Police Department is working this case aggressively.  However, the easiest way to prevent a theft from your vehicle is to LOCK YOUR CAR DOOR.  To date, there have been no forced entry into any of the vehicles (broken glass, windows smashed, etc.)
