House Fire on Swarthmore Road

At 11:42 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 the Wellesley Police dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a fire inside of a dwelling on Swarthmore Road.  On arrival, Wellesley Police officers and Wellesley firefighters found a female resident deceased inside of a bathroom.  There was evidence of a small fire inside the bathroom as well.

 

The incident remains under investigation at this time.  The Wellesley Police and Fire Department are conducting a joint investigation with members of the Massachusetts State Police, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office, the State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.  This is standard protocol when incidents of this nature occur.
