Prescription Drug Take Back Day

(Of course, with our prescription take back container in the police department lobby, you can turn in old or expired medicine any time.)

Do you have old, unused, or expired prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet?  Do you know a friend, relative, or perhaps even an elderly neighbor that has old prescription drugs not being used?  Do you know how to properly dispose of these drugs?  Had you even considered getting rid of your old prescription medications?

The Wellesley Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Wellesley Health Department, will host a drop off point for the national prescription drug "Take Back Day" on April 28.  The Wellesley Police Department, working with DEA officials, will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction at sites nationwide, including Wellesley. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Prescription and over the counter medication tablets and capsules will be accepted.  Needles must be capped in a sturdy container.
